Participants will take a closer look into CKLA instruction as they move fluidly through video segments that showcase various components of a 3-5 CKLA lesson. This 10-part video series will provide ongoing support to teachers and leaders throughout the year. Credit is awarded for each individual section of the course. (10 videos= 10 hours possible)
3rd Grade CKLA Speaking & Listening Component
Participants will experience a model lesson to gain a deeper understanding of the Speaking & Listening component of a 3rd grade CKLA lesson. (1 credit hour)
CKLA- Language Component (Grammar & Morphology)
Participants will experience a model lesson to gain a deeper understanding of the Language component of a CKLA lesson for these grade levels. (Grammar & Morphology only; spelling will not be included in this module) (1 credit hour).
CKLA- Writing Component
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how Writing is integrated within lessons and across units for these grade levels. (1 credit hour)
CKLA- Reading Component
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how Writing is integrated within lessons and across units for these grade levels. (1 credit hour)
CKLA’s Integrated Strand- Lesson Structure
Participants will gain an overview of the 3-5 Integrated Strand and design principles of CKLA instruction for these grade levels. (1 credit hour)
Engagement & Discussion in CKLA 3-5
Participants will gain understanding of how to bring 3-5 CKLA lessons to life through purposeful discussion and engagement aligned to the lesson’s primary focus. (1 credit hour)
CKLA Advanced Phonics
Participants will gain an understanding of what it means to master the code by the end of Grade 2 and how to support students in Grades 3-5 who are working toward mastery. (1 credit hour)
5th Grade CKLA Differentiation
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how to support all learners within core instruction through differentiation and scaffolded supports found within 5th grade CKLA lessons. (1 credit hour)
4th Grade CKLA Differentiation
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how to support all learners within core instruction through differentiation and scaffolded supports found within 5th grade CKLA lessons. (1 credit hour)
